TOTAL – E-LEARNING CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSORSTOTAL

As part of the ongoing training for its employees, TotalEnergies has entrusted Audace Digital Learning with the development of e-learning training modules dedicated to the use of common tools in the process industry. Following ‘Centrifugal Pumps’ and ‘Reciprocating Compressors,’ this new e-learning program aims to train the Group’s technicians in the use of centrifugal compressors to guide them towards operational excellence.

Consisting of 3 e-learning modules, the program also includes an immersive 3D capsule dedicated to the practical application of the training. The operator must ensure that the machine is functioning correctly while familiarizing themselves with the equipment.

A pre-course and post-course assessment in the form of multiple-choice questions (QCM) allows for measuring the evolution of knowledge and the effectiveness of the training.

Target

Operators on the production site.

Objective of the digital training

Enable TOTAL technicians to understand the operation of centrifugal compressors, be aware of the risks associated with operating these machines, and know how to intervene in case of a breakdown. Finally, be able to perform routine operations.

ORANO – MANUT VR

The Manut VR application designed for Orano DS is a virtual reality training simulator dedicated to handling, securing, and rigging actions related to nuclear handling activities.

In this virtual reality training, the operator must place packages of various shapes and sizes into containers. In case of non-compliance with the performed actions, the learner can visualize the consequences of their choices (accidents, equipment damage, etc.).

Targets

Handling technicians working on nuclear sites.

Educational Objectives

  • Allowing first responders to access information related to best practices when performing actions such as securing or fastening loads, or securing a lift;
  • Enabling experienced individuals to integrate methodological developments.

With the guidance of a trainer, the learner can thus practice various scenarios such as:

  • Loading a scaffolding rack with securing on a rolling cart.
  • Loading and lifting a container.
  • Loading of depressurizing agents and hose racks into a truck.
  • Loading equipment onto a flatbed trailer.
  • Loading metering boxes into a truck.

ORANO – MANUT VR Simulator

The Manut VR application designed for Orano DS is a virtual reality training simulator dedicated to blocking, securing, and slinging loads related to handling activities in a nuclear environment.

In this virtual reality training, the operator must place packages of various shapes and capacities into containers while avoiding several pitfalls, such as incorrect sling labeling, improperly positioned or damaged slings or hooks, and more. In the event of non-compliance of the actions carried out, the learner can visualize the consequences of their choices (accidents, deterioration of equipment, etc.).

TARGETS

Handling technicians working on a nuclear site.

OBJECTIVES

  • Allow first responders to access information relating to good practices to be implemented during interventions requiring bracing or securing loads or securing a lift;
  • Allow experienced people to reintegrate methodological developments.

Accompanied by a trainer, the learner can practice various scenarios such as:

  • Loading a scaffolding rack with blocking onto a rolling cart.
  • Loading and lifting a container
  • Loading vacuum cleaner and hose racks into a truck
  • Loading materials onto a flatbed trailer
  • Loading measuring boxes into a truck
  • Slinging

In order to allow immersion close to reality, the different 3D models, the character avatar as well as the environments are reproduced with a high level of realism.

TOTAL – ELEARNING CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSORS

Elearning training system

As part of the continuing training of its employees, TotalEnergies has entrusted Audace Digital Learning with the design of elearning training modules, dedicated to the use of common tools in the process industry. After “Centrifugal pumps” and “Alternative compressors”, this new e-learning aims to train the Group’s technicians in the use of centrifugal compressors to   support them towards operational excellence.

Made up of 3 elearning modules, the system also offers an immersive 3D capsule dedicated to putting the training into practice. The operator must then ensure that the machine is operating correctly while familiarizing himself with the equipment.

An evaluation at the beginning and end of the course in the form of multiple choice questions makes it possible to measure the evolution of knowledge and the effectiveness of the training.

Target

Operators on production site.

Objective of digital training

Allow TOTAL technicians to understand the operation of centrifugal compressors, to know the risks associated with the operation of these machines and how to intervene following a breakdown. Finally, know how to carry out day-to-day operations.

GRDF – Elearning “Phileas”

GRDF has a computer tool called PHILEAS that allows users to access cartographic data related to the gas network. It is used by around 800 users daily and is essential for carrying out the public service missions assigned to GRDF. Although it is intuitive, training is required to fully leverage its features.

GRDF therefore turned to Audace to develop an e-learning module designed to provide its operators with comprehensive mastery of the PHILEAS tool.

Device

This solution offers the advantage of being available online at all times. Users can access it whenever they wish and train at their own pace. The training is thus accessible to everyone, at any time, whether they are beginners or advanced users (with 3 levels of difficulty: simple, intermediate, and complex).

The training is divided into two different modes:

  • The first mode is “Initial Training“: users go through all the sequences in a predefined order, in a process of discovering or getting acquainted with the tool.
  • The second mode is “Toolbox“: this mode allows users to consult a specific sequence addressing a particular need (for example, if they have a question about a specific operation). The content is presented in detail to facilitate use in a “toolbox” mode, with guidance for effective use of the training tool.

For better understanding, the user must be active in their training, regardless of the mode used. Using PHILEAS simultaneously with the training tool helps users effectively master the functionalities of the software.

PHILEAS technical solutions

For this e-learning module, Audace uses Articulate Storyline 360. This tool allows the integration of quizzes, assessment systems, and various media (such as motion design and videos). Testing was conducted using the online tool Storyline “Review,” which provides a shared version representative of the current production stage. It offers traceability of correction requests and facilitates a simple and smooth handling of correction requests, thus saving time.

Pedagogical Objective of the Digital Training

The training allows learners to master the various stages of launching the software. This involves understanding the procedures for starting the software, configuring it, and navigating the user interface. Learners must also be capable of using PHILEAS features to conduct surveys and investigations.

Strategic issues

Audace employs stimulating pedagogical approaches to encourage learners to explore all the content offered.

To test their knowledge, learners engage in interactive activities, case studies, simulations, and practical projects. They must be able to follow the necessary procedures to complete these tasks successfully. Additionally, they need to understand the collected information, analyze it, and draw conclusions from the results obtained. This allows for assessing their level, reinforcing their understanding, and applying the acquired skills.

Elearning PHILEAS Pedagogy

The training is based on three key pillars:

  • Obtaining Attention
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Memorization Work

It begins with a two-phase positioning test to help the learner assess their level and optimize their training time.

The training path is then organized into three phases: Learn, Try, and Assess. Demonstrative media created from the PHILEAS software are used to enhance understanding. Additionally, tutorials recorded by a collaborator of the application are also available.

Audace has also ensured that the modules comply with WCAG guidelines for accessibility.
